Best Practices for Peptide Storage — UK Researchers
Published May 5, 2026
Proper storage preserves peptide integrity and research validity. This guide covers UK best practice for both lyophilised and reconstituted research peptides.
Lyophilised vials
Long-term: -20°C in a frost-free freezer, protected from light. Short-term (under one month): refrigerator at 2–8°C is acceptable.
Reconstituted vials
Refrigerate at 2–8°C. Use bacteriostatic water rather than sterile water for multi-dose vials. Use within 28 days.
Avoid
- Freezing reconstituted solution — repeated freeze-thaw cycles damage peptide bonds.
- Direct sunlight or warm window-sills.
- Vigorous shaking.
Transit
UK Peptide Store ships lyophilised vials at ambient — they are shelf-stable for several days in transit. Refrigerate immediately on arrival.
